a regenerative design platform that connects local ecosystems and community through collaboration to revitalise the human-nature relationship in our urban environment.
Our mission is to foster symbiotic relationships between human, flora, fauna communities and empowering them to co-create to become thriving and connected communities.
Local ecosystems are often overshadowed by human infrastructures, but every neighbourhood relies on the healthy symbiosis of supporting healthy environments. Creating clean soil, air, water, and co-living spaces contribute and invest in the future of the neighbourhood and support connection, collaboration and new learning on how human and nature are intertwined.
Symbiotic Neighbourhood envisions a tomorrow where every local ecosystem embodies principles of regeneration, equity, and community well-being, and shape holistic test spaces that show and share how we can live together. History shows that the more the human excludes the ecosystem from its neighbourhood the more our physical and mental health is impacted, re-learning who we are connected in natural systems is key to create a healthier future, and that starts with repairing and proposing new relations today.
What we do

Symbiotic Neighbourhood engages as mediator, educator, designer and host and work site-specific in neighbourhoods to work with human and ecosystem communities. Through workshop, day or more intensive program sessions, stakeholders are connected, learn about the deeper holistic relational ecology of their neighbourhood and learn to identify what is the identity and culture of the are. To understand what systems, skills and relations work well are important so we can identify the gaps, and the growth for the neighbourhood.
Symbiotic Neighbourhood creates test spaces for temporary engagement and working with local citizens, council and ecologist, designers and experts to facilitate, map, and develop a new thriving blueprint for the location. One of the key elements is learning how water, soil and air systems can improve and how citizens, human and flora and fauna can work together in each other benefit.
The processes that Symbiotic Neighbourhood facilitates create community engagement and developing co-creation outcomes. We move from neighbourhood to neighbourhood to connect learning and ecological understanding. The communities that we work with are given the tools and capacity to develop their human-nature relations and connect an intergenerational and regenerative mode of stewarding.
